Ezgi Ay’da who brings a fresh breath to music with her composition “OBA | Turkic Nomad Tribe” created at Babakamp, will be among us at the Oba Anatolian Gathering from June 3rd to 9th.

Just like much of the Turkish geography, Ezgi Ay’da, almost entirely of nomadic descent, traces the journey of her family from Fergana, Uzbekistan, to Kuba, Azerbaijan, then to Amasya, Isparta, Ordu, and Istanbul. In her quest to explore her roots, Ezgi Ay’da takes us from the belief in Tengri to the embrace of Anatolia, from Sufi melodies to the geography of Turkestan.

Reflecting Anatolia’s nurturing attitude on her journey with a crescent on her forehead and a young wolf cub in her arms, Ezgi Ay’da says, “We are all here in this tribe,” while also paying homage to this beautiful land where dervishes, saints, abdals and lovers coexist.
